TWAS ROLAC Building Scientific Institutions Prize
The Prize "Building Scientific Institutions” will be awarded every four years by TWAS Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean to recognize individuals who have been instrumental in the developing and ultimate establishment of vibrant scientific institutions, or those who have significantly expanded the activities of already-established institutions.
The Prize will consist of a cash award equivalent to US$ 3,000.00 and a Diploma. A “Special Mention” may be awarded to a scientist in recognition for his/her contribution in this area, if the prize committee unanimously so decides. In such case, the awardee is still eligible for the prize in other years.
The candidate to Prize "Building Scientific Institutions” is responsible for his/her presentation.
The following documents are requested for a candidacy to be considered:
• Updated curriculum vitae
• Description of the candidate’s works justifying the candidacy
• Up to 5 significant publications by the author in this area (electronic copies)
• Registration form dully filled
The complete set of documents must be sent in a single e-mail to [email protected] under the subject “Building Scientific Institutions Prize”. For proper identification, the names of all files must begin with SURNAME_firstinitial.
The Chair of TWAS ROLAC presides over the Prize Committee, with the quality vote.
In case the prize is not awarded, the money prize will not be accumulated for the next edition. The announcement for the Prize and dead line are informed every year. The winner is announced during the TWAS General Meeting.
